Performs highly responsible fiscal control work in directing the activities of the County
Finance Department as well as the cash collections and billing of the Water Utility.
Responsible for planning and administration of the systems and processes for receiving,
disbursing, and accounting of revenues and expenditures for the County. Work involves
supervision of purchasing, accounting, collections, billing, cash investments, payroll
operations, and insurance programs. Compiles daily and monthly reports to insure
accurate reporting. Manages the investment of County funds and is responsible for the
preparation of the annual budget with the assistance of the County Manager. Work is
performed in accordance with established County finance procedures, local ordinances
and NC General Statutes governing the responsibilities of local government fiscal
operations. Reports to the County Manager.

Title Deputy Sheriff/School Resource Officer - Sheriff's Office
Salary $33,460 - $40,152 DOQ
Plus $2,000 Associate or $4,000 Bacheors Degree

Provide a wide range of services to the public as a sworn law enforcement officer to include protecting lives, property, and rights of people in Beaufort County.  Serve as a School Resource Officer at a local school to deter crime, enforce laws, provide a positive law enforcement role model and use proactive prevention by exposing the human qualities of law enforcement to our youth.

Serves as the Budget, Personnel, and Business Officer for the Health Department. Prepares and administers the annual department budget. Responsible for monitoring expenditures, tracking revenue, and submitting monthly expenditure reports. Prepares and submits budget amendments as necessary. Oversees the operations of the billing, purchasing, and IT departments. Supervises the Administrative Assistant I and Accounting Technician III positions. Responsible for recruiting and screening job applicants. Provides considerable input into planning for major changes, plans for fiscal resources, and for the operation of ongoing programs to meet goals and objectives. Writes agency policies and procedures. Responsible for agency participation in the NC Debt Setoff Program
