The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Community Education and Outreach Nurse for the Beaufort County Health Department. This position will develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate evidenced-based strategies to address chronic and preventive health needs within the community and collaborate with health education staff, clinic RN Program Coordinators (BCCCP, STD, Immunization, CD) to maximize targeted outreach opportunities and resources. Performs highly responsible fiscal control work in directing the activities of the County
Finance Department as well as the cash collections and billing of the Water Utility.
Responsible for planning and administration of the systems and processes for receiving,
disbursing, and accounting of revenues and expenditures for the County. Work involves
supervision of purchasing, accounting, collections, billing, cash investments, payroll
operations, and insurance programs. Compiles daily and monthly reports to insure
accurate reporting. Manages the investment of County funds and is responsible for the

Serves as official Clerk to the Beaufort County Board of Commissioners. Work involves preparation of agendas for Board meetings, gathering information for agenda packets, notifying Commissioners, County staff and news medial of dates and times of Board meetings. Attends all Board meetings, work sessions and public hearings. Types agendas, minutes, resolutions, memorandums, advertisements for papers and proclamations. Records, indexes and publishes the official minutes of the Board, responsible for retention of official records to include meeting minutes, ordinance books and records of the County in accordance with statutes. Prepares legal advertisements, notarizes and attests documents. Maintains official records of County appointed Boards and committees (including letters of appointment and re-appointment. Administrative Support Unit includes six Processing Assistant IVs with responsibilities such as front desk reception, data entry, switchboard, maintenance of records, distribution of mail, scanning, faxing and provides clerical assistance to the entire agency. This position will assist the Administrative Assistant II, Administrative Officer, and Program Administrator with compiling and maintaining detailed financial and agency reports. This position will be responsible for the implementation of a records retention schedule and ensure the integrity of all files. Provide emergency back up to each position in the unit. All employees may be called upon to serve as shelter managers in times of natural disasters.
