WASHINGTON, N.C. – Belhaven and Aurora residents will have opportunities next week to meet face-to-face with Beaufort County Tax Office staff without making the drive to Washington.
The Tax Office is holding drop-in days to help residents start the 2026 tax year off strong. Staff will be available to address property tax-related needs and answer any questions. The dates and times are as follows:
Belhaven
- Tuesday, January 13, 2026
- 9 to 11 a.m.
- Belhaven Public Library
- 333 E. Main St., Belhaven, NC
Aurora
- Wednesday, January 14, 2026
- 9 to 11 a.m.
- Aurora Community Center
- 442 Third St., Aurora, NC
Staff will begin both days with a brief presentation on services offered by the tax office and related topics. Residents are welcome to stop by at any time during the two-hour timeframe.
Topics that can be addressed include, but are not limited to:
- Property tax relief programs
- Property tax listings
- Present use value
- Business personal property listings
- Appeals
- Property tax payments and payment plans
