Beaufort County departments were recently recognized by the North Carolina Department of Labor with the following safety awards:
Administration: Gold
Department of Social Services: Silver
Emergency Services: Gold
Public Works: Silver
A Gold Award recognizes the rate of days away from work, job transfer or restriction was at least 50% below the industry average, and a Silver Award recognizes the rate of days away from work was at least 50% below the industry average.
