Beaufort County Schools serves local families through a network of 14 public K–12 schools, including elementary, primary, middle, high, and technical schools. In addition to public education, families have access to private, charter, and Montessori options, ensuring a variety of learning environments to suit different needs.

Beaufort County Community College (BCCC) offers a valuable opportunity for residents through the Beaufort Promise program, which provides free tuition for eligible students.* This program combines federal and state funding to cover college credit courses and 50+ hour initial certification programs through the Division of Continuing Education. BCCC enrolls approximately 2,000 students and offers associate degrees in 13 fields, along with a robust catalog of continuing education courses—many of which are tailored to industry needs.

Just 30 minutes away in Greenville, East Carolina University (ECU) offers access to a nationally accredited four-year education. With an enrollment of over 21,000 students, ECU provides more than 100 undergraduate programs and 75+ master’s degrees across a wide range of disciplines—further expanding educational and workforce development opportunities for Beaufort County residents.
